3D Photogrammetry to capture High-Resolution colour texture
For this project involving the 3D scanning of a sculpture, 3D photogrammetry was used. The final goal was to obtain a high-quality 3D geometry that also included a detailed color texture. Compared to traditional laser or structured light 3D scanning, photogrammetry is a slower process that involves multiple disciplines: photography, lighting, 3D scanning, and post-processing data skills. Objects of small, medium, and large dimensions can be 3D digitized. Generally, photogrammetry is well-suited for artistic applications such as scanning bas-reliefs, sculptures, or objects that need to be captured in color as well. The resulting 3D model can be published in online commercial catalogs or animated/rendered in 3D. If you have objects you are interested in acquiring in 3D with color, feel free to contact us.
