3D Scanning and CAD Reverse Engineering of a Plastic Glasses Frame Holder
This project involved the 3D scanning and Reverse Engineering of a plastic glass frame holder. Both sides of the component were scanned to generate a watertight STL model, using the Raptor X scanning system by Creality. The CAD reconstruction was subsequently performed in Geomagic Design X. Given the thin and translucent nature of the frame’s surfaces, a light coating of matte white spray was applied beforehand to enhance scan accuracy and reduce data loss due to reflections and transparency.
