Watertight 3D scan of a motorbike nose cone (Suzuki RG, 1990)

Here’s another example of a 3D scan made with our non-contact 3D scanning system. This is a Suzuki RG noise cone, which is quite flexible and challenging to handle due to the upper fairing area being highly prone to deformation. A series of markers were applied to align the various scans, and a light layer of scanning spray was used on the transparent part of the fairing to reduce reflections and improve scan quality. In Geomagic Design X, the watertight STL mesh was cleaned, optimized, and made symmetrical for further processing.
